Carolina Garces wears many hats. She is a mother, a small business owner, a certified personal trainer, and a nutritionist. She has a passion for fitness and health, which is apparent to anyone who speaks to her even if just for a few minutes. Her faith is also important to her. In August 2025, she started planning an event that would combine the two – the Rise Up & Fuel: 3K Wellness & Health Fair.

The free community fair will be happening on January 10, 2026, at Arroyo Park. It will kick off with a run at 8 am for those who sign up for it for a $25 fee. After the 3K, everyone is free to join for worship and praise time from 9:30 am to 10 am. The Wellness & Health Fair will then follow from 10 am to 1 pm.

Hosted by Garces’ women’s fitness studio, Limitless Studio by CBoss Beauty, the event will also have a free Zumba session, local wellness and health vendors, as well as gyms and trainers on site. There will also be raffles and giveaways.

Garces mentions that it wasn’t easy putting the event together. After some roadblocks with the original site, another location was chosen and set. Overall, Garces was happy with how things worked out and that it will now be at Arroyo Park.

“I actually went to go check it out and map the run,” she said. “I feel like it was meant to be, and I really enjoyed the space. It’ s great! The trail is awesome.”

Garces’ positivity radiates when she speaks about the event and her experience helping women at her studio as she highlights the importance of wellness but not just physical wellness.

“We not only are here for the physical, but we are here to strengthen the body, mind, and spirit,” she said. “Yes, we all want to look great, but we are all here fighting our mental battles, too. Some days we wanna quit and say that we aren’t good enough. It all has to do with faith, believing in yourself and gratitude.”

The event aims to blend physical health and spiritual encouragement.

“That’s the main focus,” Garces said.

She has plans in the future to keep the event going annually and to possibly evolve it and include something for everyone: Zumba, yoga, weight training, CrossFit, etc. In the meantime, she’s grateful for the opportunity to bring this event to life this new year.
