For more than 20 years, the Harlingen Country Club has hosted the Men's ITF World Tennis Tournament each October. More than 60 U.S. and international tennis players come to Harlingen to compete to qualify for higher-level events.

The Harlingen High School South Hawks Tennis program has been crowned Team Tennis District Champions 29 times in the school's 32-year history.
