Wrapped in Love is a Girl Scout Gold Award Project aimed at creating headwraps for patients undergoing cancer treatment (or illnesses resulting in hair loss) by teaching students the sewing process and donating the created headwraps to the community.
High school student Makena Silva created the project. Makena has spent the last month teaching elementary students how to sew the headwraps for donation. The students have sewn a total of 146 headwraps. Along with 120 headwraps that Makena herself created, a total of 266 headwraps currently have been donated to the local cancer community in the Rio Grande Valley.
